This was the first Nissan Skyline GTR that we built at Magnum. Again it was a demo car for what we could do, but as it was also my daily driver the plan wasn’t quite as extreme as for the R32.
An HKS dual Dragger Exhaust system went on followed by Nismo 300R front bumper and side skirts. I modified the bumper to maximize the cooling potential of the huge Trust Intercooler.
A full re-spray was undertaken in original midnight purple along with a set of 19″ Braid spilt rim alloys wrapped in 275×30 Goodyear tyres and the Dual Dragger was replaced with a full Apexi Race exhaust system including Y pipe and de-cat. At the same time I fitted some HKS hypermax II coilovers for to improve the handling but also get a much lower stance for the car which I felt sat much too high as standard. The reduced ride height really emphasized the body kit.
Next on the list was a power increase so a Blitz boost controller was fitted and boost raised to 1.1bar. This power increase was ok for a couple of weeks before a full HKS top mount 2835 ball bearing turbo kit was fitted, bringing peak power up to 580hp – which was a lot better!!
The car was featured in Japanese Performance Magazine and Loaded Magazine
